Working for Change on Flood Risk
Founded by residents of Bewdley affected by flooding in 2002, the National Flood Forum is the UK’s first national charity dedicated to flooding. For over 20 years, we have worked across England and Wales to amplify the voices of those directly impacted by flooding, supporting people and communities to collaborate with flood risk management authorities to reduce the impact of flooding in their area.
Flooding is not a rare or “unprecedented” event. Every year, communities across the UK are affected, and climate change is increasing both the frequency and severity of flooding. The economic and emotional costs are high — and rising.
We believe flooding must be treated as a national priority. Reducing flood risk requires long‑term investment, shared responsibility, and a far more ambitious, people‑centred approach.
