Established in 1964, SPEL now has over 60 years of experience in manufacturing Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). Starting from humble beginnings, Shrewsbury Plastics and Engineering Limited has evolved into the SPEL of today.
Mr Paul Pocock started the business at the tender age of 21 manufacturing cabs and roofs for milk floats and other electric vehicles, the forerunner of the TESLA’s of today. The company evolved, manufacturing products such as construction cladding, and pioneering the ‘Onion’ septic tank in 1975. This was the beginning of SPEL’s commitment to water treatment right through to today’s SuDS compliant systems.
